Game Description & Reviews:
(Sweet Home is based on the Japanese movie of the same name)
Sweet Home is one of, if not the only, survival horror title on the NES. You play a group of art buffs who go into the house of a deceased artist to restore his frescoes. Each of the six characters has a specific item (like a key, a camera, a vacuum cleaner, etc) that helps them solve puzzles in the mansion.
You have to decide how you're going to venture into the mansion: will everyone go in independently? Groups of two or three? Or a mixture? Be careful how you choose, however, because if one of your characters dies, there are no Phoenix Downs to bring him back. When they're gone, they're gone.
Besides the survival horror and "When you're dead, you're dead" aspects to the game, Sweet Home plays like a typical turn-based RPG. Battles are randomly encountered, and puzzles abound.
So boot up your NES emulator, turn off the lights, and turn up the speakers for a spooky old school experience that other NES games just can't offer you.
