Game Description & Reviews:
Sqoon is an underwater side-scrolling shooter. It may be the toughest side-scrolling shooter ever made. You have two types of ammo: forward guns and an ice missile. You do not get shields, but you can get a spread shot for the forward guns. Certain enemies are vulnerable only to the ice missile, and the forward gun tends to miss quite a bit. 1-up's are also difficult to get, because some of them require shooting a certain type of rare enemy an exact number of times. Shoot it one extra time, and you don't get your 1-up. Enemies also fly at you very quickly, even near the beginning.
But that's not all: you also have to keep your fuel levels up, and they tend to drop very fast. The only way to replenish fuel is to either rescue 9 prisoners or rescue prisoners plus gold. The way to get gold is to shoot a crab on the bottom, and then quickly pick up the shining bar before it turns to a crab again (maybe 3 seconds). When you get really good, the crab stops being a huge problem.
This is a decent game, as are most Konami shooters. However, chances are that you will not enjoy it unless you are willing to save state quite a bit in the emulator.
