A decent platform game for NES.Its graphics are good for NES and its enjoyable but this game is very difficult.Controls are not good which makes this game a lot more difficult. You may spend some time on this game but if you want to play a good game then this game is not for you.
Kabuki - Quantum Fighter is an Action-SideScrolling Platform game from 1990, around the same time as Super Mario Bros. 3, maybe a little earlier. the story is, you are Scott o'Connor, a millitary operative who specializes in Psycholodgy as well as computer hardware and software. the year is 2056, any the world's computer systems have been infested by an unknown virus. In a laboratory nearby, a special experimental Image Transfer System, allows one's brain to be Converted into raw Binary data, and sent into the computer systems in a psudo-physical form. though untested, this technoledgy may just be the only way earth can be saved from nuclear missiles from being set off simultaniously by the harmful intent of the virus. You, Scott o'Connor, have been chosen to take on this task, fully aware of the damage that may be caused in his brain.
When inside, o'Connor Realizes he has taken the form of a Japanese Kabuki Actor, just like his Great-Great GrandFather once was. Once inside, he is pitted against a great deal of viruses in the form of Beasts and Monsters.
In terms of gameplay, the Platforming is quite challenging, and combat is varried, using your red hair as a weapon, of using weapons to fight from a distance. the level design is very detailed, and will have you thinking quickly as to not die. the boss battles are as you'd expect from a Megaman, Castlevania, or other action platformers of it's time.
It's definately a game for those with quick reflexes and patience. personally, I enjoy these types of games, as I like a challenge. I've never made it past the third boss, just so you know, you WILL be trying Again and again to pass tough parts that involve quick timing. over all, a good game. --------9.4 / 10
