Game Description & Reviews:
The game allows the player to control a F-14 Tomcat jet which must destroy a series of enemy jets throughout 18 stages. The jet itself employs a machine gun and a limited set of missiles. These weapons are replenished by another aircraft after beating a few stages. The aircraft, cannon and missile buttons are all controlled from an integrated flight stick.
The game itself was released in two variations: a standard upright cabinet and a rotating cockpit version. In the cockpit, the seat rotated horizontally while the cockpit rotated vertically. its a staple in video game history of jet dogfighting games.
After Burner is a shooter-plane type of game, like Top Gun. You fly around shooting planes and that's pretty much the whole game. The only real difference is the mini games that tell you what button to push. You still get the ammo from that suction cup plane thing but without the button thing, too. So there's nothing unique, but its not the worst game out there.
