Game Description & Reviews:
Sonic the Hedgehog Chaos is a 2D Platformer game, developed by Aspect and published by Sega, which was released in 1993.
Sonic Chaos is the first game besides Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Genesis) that lets you play as Sonic and Tails (not at the same time). As Sonic you will speed through 6 different zones trying to obtain the 5 Chaos Emeralds. To do so players must gain 100 rings in any level and will be transported to a bonus stage where they can obtain a Chaos Emerald. Obtaining them all and defeating Dr Robotnik will trigger the games good ending where Sonic will take the 6th Chaos Emerald held by the Dr. This game's story is much the same as the Genesis games where Robotnik decides to capture animals to power his robots with. As Tails you will speed through the same 6 different zones but you cannot obtain the Chaos Emeralds and the Tails ending is nothing special. New to this game is the Rocket Power Up that Sonic can ride to reach normally unreachable areas, as well as the Super Tails Flying Power Up which as it suggests allows Tails to fly infinitely long for a short time. Gameplay is much the same as any Sonic game and works well on the Game Gear/Master System. Music is good, and amount of content is decent enough for players to play the game often. Sonic Chaos is a great game and holds up on its own against the much longer more elaborate other titles in the series.
